Sue Hems

With more than five years’ experience in the mortgage industry, Sue brings both
personal and professional insight to her role as a Senior Mortgage Adviser at
Sapphire Mortgages.

After running a successful party and events business with her husband Adrian for
over 20 years, Sue decided it was time for a new challenge. Her natural strengths in
customer service, organisation and problem-solving, combined with her personal
interest in property, led her to retrain and achieve her CeMAP qualification in 2020.
Since then, she has been guiding clients through the mortgage process with
expertise and care.

Sue has a particular passion for supporting clients with complex incomes – including
IT Contractors, Self-Employed professionals, Company Directors and CIS
Contractors – helping them secure mortgages where others might struggle. She also
loves working with first-time buyers, ensuring they feel supported and confident as
they take their very first step onto the property ladder. In addition, her own
experience as a landlord means she understands the needs of Buy to Let investors
and can offer practical, tailored advice.

Her colleagues describe Sue as approachable, supportive and detail-oriented, with a
real commitment to making the mortgage journey as smooth and stress-free as
possible.

Outside of work, Sue enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband
Adrian have been married for over 35 years and have two grown-up children, as well
as a much-loved grandson, Jacob. Family time is hugely important to her – whether
that’s relaxing in the hot tub, meeting with friends and loved ones, or unwinding with
the latest Netflix series.
